Quezon City, Philippines. September 7, 2025, was a day of profound celebration for the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (IHMP), marking a confluence of spiritual, communal, and historical milestones. The day was observed as the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, a moment to reflect on and give thanks for God’s gifts. This was a particularly poignant theme for parishioners as they also celebrated the 56th inauguration anniversary of their parish.
The day’s events were highlighted by a special 11 a.m. Sunday Mass. The Holy Eucharist was presided over by the parish priest, Fr. Dennis Tamayo, CMF, and concelebrated by two distinguished guests: Fr. Ronel Chipana, CMF, Provincial of the Claretian Missionaries of Peru-Bolivia, and Fr. Louie Guades III, CMF, Provincial Prefect of Communication of Fr. Rhoel Gallardo Province.
Following the homily, a significant commissioning ceremony took place for the newly appointed parish leaders. The members of the Parish Pastoral Council, Parish Finance Council, and the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) Coordinators formally received their roles, committing to guide and serve the parish community.
The solemnity of the Mass transitioned into an atmosphere of joyous fellowship. Parishioners gathered at the Bulwagang Claret for a grand salu-salo (feast) and a series of lively games. Laughter filled the air as community members, young and old, participated in the festivities, strengthening their bonds and celebrating their shared faith. The event encapsulated the day’s spirit—a blend of spiritual devotion, committed leadership, and a deep sense of community.
