Quezon City, Philippines. On May 31, four (4) Claretians were ordained into the sacred orders of the presbyterate and diaconate. The newly ordained priests include Fr. Ian Rio Dacayanan, CMF, who is part of the East Asia Delegation; Fr. Dominic Aung San Htay, CMF, the third Claretian priest from Myanmar; and the deacons are Rev. Joseph Ha Van Kinh (Vietnam) and Rev. Joselito Mac Jhon Buendever, CMF (Philippines).

In his homily, Bp. Roberto Gaa of the Diocese of Novaliches emphasized the significance of viewing the ordination as an act of offering, not only for the lives of those being ordained but also for the families who have selflessly presented their sons to God and the Church. This event also serves as a moment of renewal for the priests who have dedicated their lives to the service of others.
Bp. Gaa further stated that transformations occur during formation, as we have been granted a gift that we do not merit, which leads to change. The vow of obedience signifies the maturity in one’s vocation that continues to develop. After ordination, or even upon completing the initial formation period, the learning and integration from seminary experiences will be put to the test, and this is evident in the first five years of priesthood.

The ceremony was attended by family members, friends, relatives, and consecrated men and women from various religious communities. Before the final blessings, the parents and relatives of the newly ordained priests were presented with a certificate of recognition as a gesture of gratitude from the Claretian Missionaries of Fr. Gallardo Province and the East Asia Delegation, along with the presence of the respective major superior. We continue to pray for their perseverance and commitment.
Fr. Wigbert Papa, CMF (Provincial Secretary)
