QUEZON CITY, Philippines (September 8, 2026)
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (IHMP) in UP Village, Diliman, solemnly dedicated its church and altar on September 7, 2026. Most Rev. Elias L. Ayuban, Jr., CMF, DD, JCD, presided over the 5:00 PM Eucharistic celebration. The liturgy formally consecrated the church as a sacred space for divine worship.
The parish community organized preparations and a general rehearsal to ensure a solemn celebration. Lay collaborators and clergy prepared the movements, music, and specific liturgical details.
The ceremony featured several traditional Catholic rites of dedication. Bishop Ayuban anointed the main altar and the twelve crosses located on the walls of the church. The rites continued with the incensation of the space. The ministers then illuminated the altar and the entire church building before the bishop recited the solemn prayer of dedication.
The newly dedicated altar serves as the center of Eucharistic worship for the community. The rites consecrate the physical structure as a permanent location for the people to hear the word of God and receive the sacraments. The parish expects the dedicated church to continue serving the local faithful for future generations.
