QUEZON CITY, Philippines (September 29, 2026)
The Immaculate Conception Parish – North Susana (ICP) hosted a special screening of the meta-documentary “Seeds of Peace: The Life of Fr. Rhoel D. Gallardo, CMF” on September 26, 2026. The viewing took place at the New Intramuros Village Chapel. The parish community gathered to honor the life, faith, and ultimate sacrifice of the martyred Claretian priest.
Directed by Rommel Galapia Ruiz and starring Zaijian Jaranilla, the film presents a journey of courage and devotion. The organizers used the documentary to remind attendees that peace requires active choices built on compassion, understanding, and solidarity. The parish community dedicated the afternoon to reflecting on how to become instruments of peace and reconciliation.
The parish event is part of an ongoing series of special screenings for the film. The documentary initially launched on March 20, 2026, to mark the 26th anniversary of the abduction of Fr. Gallardo by the Abu Sayyaf terror group in Basilan. The production then expanded to a global audience on May 2 with a special international screening at the Lumiere Romford cinema in London, United Kingdom, coordinated with members of the Gallardo family.
Between July and September, the documentary reached various domestic audiences. The local government of Candon City in Ilocos Sur hosted a major community viewing in July. In September, consecrated men and women watched the film during the 2nd CMSP Convention 2026 in Zamboanga City. The Claret School of Quezon City (CSQC) also organized a dedicated community screening to share the legacy of peace with its students, faculty, and staff.
